TikTok Hack for Getting Rid of Red Stains on Plastic Tupperware Goes Viral

If you have plastic Tupperware, you probably have stained Tupperware. We’re not just talking about the Tupperware brand either. Any plasticware that is made for storing food seems like it is almost impossible to clean sometimes.

We literally cringe anytime a family member pours tomato-based leftovers in Tupperware. We know that the plastic will end up with a greasy texture and a redish stain that we’ll never be able to remove.

Instead of throwing that Tupperware away or accepting the fact that it will be stained forever, TikTok user @adikempler has found another solution. She has discovered a way to easily remove those pesky red stains from Tupperware containers, and it only requires a few items that you most likely have in your home right now.

She starts by showing us the inside of one of her plastic containers. It is indeed stained in that too familiar way. In order to clean it, she simply adds a little bit of dish soap and some warm water. In the comments section of the video she shared that before filming the video, she let the water run for awhile to get it warm. Do not use cold water.

After the dish soap and water are in the container, you need to add a few pieces of a paper towel. We assume any paper towel brand would work, but you do not want to skip this step.

With the paper towel inside, find the container’s lid and close it really well. Then, get your arm muscles ready because you’re going to shake, shake, shake that container for about 45 seconds.

That’s it. In less than a minute, the stains are gone! We know. It’s pretty mind blowing that the stains can be removed that quickly and easily.

You might wonder if this is just clever editing, but viewers have shared in the comments that this hack really works. One comment reads, “It worked for me!!!!”

Another viewer wrote, “I tried this for mine, not all of it came off because we’ve had it for years but it looks new and I’m happy.”

It sounds like the longer the stain has been on the container the harder it might be to get off, but going forward with new containers and recently set in stains, we will definitely be trying out this hack to keep them looking new much longer.

Do you have stained Tupperware containers? Are you going to try this paper towel hack to remove the stains?
