Bruce Willis Will Step Away From Acting Following Diagnosis of Rare Brain Disorder

Many exes don’t get along, but that’s not true of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. The former couple has stayed friendly throughout the years. They even quarantined together during the pandemic, and that was perfectly fine with Willis’s current wife Emma Willis.

While the relationship between the exes may be unusual, it is to be admired. Their kids get to see their parents on friendly terms instead of as enemies fighting all the time. That’s admirable.

Even though they are no longer legally family members, Willis and Moore will always have the family ties of their children, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. And Moore still considers herself part of the family. She still cares about Willis

How do we know? She was the one to break some very painful and personal news to the public. Earlier today, Moore shared on Instagram that Willis will no longer be acting. She wrote, “With much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”

This isn’t a flippant decision. He didn’t simply decide to retire. No, it was a decision made based on his own health issues.

Moore shared, “Our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.”

Aphasia is a brain disorder that can affect a person’s ability to communicate. According to the Mayo Clinic, common symptoms of aphasia include speaking or writing words and sentences that don’t make sense. In addition, not being able to understand what other people are saying.

Aphasia can be caused by an injury to the head or a stroke, but it can also come on slowly over time due to a disease or slow-growing tumor. Moore did not clarify what the cause is of Willis’s aphasia, but she did explain that they are going to make the most of the situation. She wrote, “As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.”

Although Moore posted the announcement on her Instagram account, it was signed by the entire Willis family, including his current wife, Emma, and his children with his current wife, Mabel and Evelyn. It was also signed by Moore and her and Willis’ children, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah.
