Twin Sisters Give Birth to Baby Girls 90 Minutes Apart On Their Birthday

For their entire lives, these identical twins have done everything together — and, amazingly, they can now add childbirth to that list.

On Oct. 29, Tennessee twin sisters Amber Tramontana and Autum Shaw celebrated their 33rd birthday in an unforgettable way, giving birth to their daughters just 90 minutes apart at the same hospital!

The twins arrived at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville on the morning of Oct. 29, and delivered their daughters in the evening. Autum’s daughter, Charleston, was the first to make her appearance. The baby girl made her debut at 4:38 p.m., weighing 9 lbs., 4 oz. Just an hour and a half later, her cousin Blakely joined the party, born at 6:08 p.m. and weighing in at 7 lbs., 2 oz.

Though their story is remarkable, it’s unsurprising given their tight history. The pair says they’ve been joined at the hip since birth, and have followed the same paths both personally and professionally. After graduating high school, Amber and Autum attended Carson Newman University in their home state, where they obtained their bachelor’s and master’s degrees. They both became registered nurses — then nurse practitioners.

While Amber has worked in Knoxville in the maternity and oncology units, Autum followed a slightly different trajectory. She is based in Morristown, and worked on the trauma unit before moving on to practice orthopedic nursing.

The similarities don’t end with their careers, however. Adding daughters to their families on the same day is an extraordinary coincidence, but we should also mention Charleston and Blakely are not their mothers’ firstborn children. Amber and Autum both have toddler boys, whose names are Briggs Tramontana and Maverick Shaw. While the little guys were born 10 weeks apart, they were, of course, the same length and weight at birth.

Autum became pregnant again in 2019, but suffered a miscarriage on Christmas Day, which left her and her husband devastated. Though she says at the time the heartbreak was insufferable, her spirits were lifted in early 2020 when she learned that she and Amber were once again pregnant together. In an incredible twist of fate, the two discovered during a FaceTime call that they shared the same due date.

While some have asked whether the twins had this all planned, Amber is quick to debunk that theory, adding that Autum and her husband had been previously trying to get pregnant. In an interview with People, Autum said she attributes the double blessing to divine intervention.

“This is our testimony,” she told the magazine. “You couldn’t have planned this… God made our story very, very special, and all the little details came together for a big, beautiful picture, and I’m so thankful for that.”

Amber and Autum said their girls already share a very special bond, and that they are excited to watch them grow up together. By the sounds of it, we think they’re on track to be inseparable!
