Stuttering Teen Who Bonded With Biden Flawlessly Recites Passage from JFK’s Inaugural Address
Brayden Harrington first met President Biden in February 2020 when Biden was running for President. While meeting a President or former Vice-President could be a great moment for many people, for Harrington, it was potentially life-changing.
Harrington and Biden both have something in common, something they both work to overcome. They both stutter.
Harrington later told Good Morning America how pivotal meeting Biden really was for him, “Before, my No. 1 fear was my stutter, and that was close to the scariest thing in my life, and now… I’ve seen that as a gift. I have seen that as a way to improve myself mentally and physically, and I feel like I’ve really grown from meeting him.”
Harrington and Biden have remained in touch since they first met, and he even spoke at the Democratic National Convention on August 20, 2020.

Now, Harrington is speaking up again. This time time, he spoke flawlessly and without any hint of a stutter. As part of President Biden’s inaugural celebration, the 13-year-old boy recited the following part of John F. Kennedy’s inaugural speech.
“In the long history of the world only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger, I do not shrink from that responsibility. I welcome it. I do not believe that any of us will exchange places with any other people or any other generation,” Brayden Harrington recited.
“The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it. And the glow from that fire can truly light the world. And so my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what can you do for your country.”

He spoke slowly and powerfully, plus, we love the bow tie! The teen’s dad, Owen Harrington, commented on the video saying that his son worked hard on the speech.
Thank you for giving Brayden the opportunity. He certainly worked hard on it and we couldn’t be prouder to have him participate.
