Roseanne Barr Claims That She Knows the Exact Fate of Her Character on “The Conners”

Embattled comedienne Roseanne Barr recently popped up on a YouTube talk show to discuss her character’s demise from the now-defunct Roseanne. Roseanne spinoff, The Conners, will air this fall without her.

Speaking with host Brandon Straka on his web show, “Walk Away”, she revealed how her character supposedly will be killed off. According to her, it’s an opioid overdose. Back in August, John Goodman said in an interview that his TV wife would be killed off, but he didn’t say how.

So far, very little has been shared by the network (ABC) about how the show will address Roseanne’s departure. Following the show’s cancellation due to fallout from Barr’s Twitter rant, she cut all creative and financial ties with Roseanne in order to give her former castmates and crew an opportunity to keep things alive.

As far as the opioid scenario, she is not happy about it. Barr remarked that the decision was disrespectful to fans of the Conner family and the show. Ironically, the reboot of Roseanne saw the matriarch contend with a pill problem as a result of knee pain.

The idea of an issue with pain killers would not be far-fetched. In her eyes, Roseanne should have received a happier ending without a link to drug addiction. She told Straka:

“I was never going to have Roseanne die of an opioid overdose. It’s so cynical and horrible. She should have died as a hero, or not at all…”

Although The Conners will not premiere until October, it is unclear how Barr got wind of how her character will be written off. The spinoff has fans divided, but some may tune in just to see what they do with the sitcom’s former star.

Will you be watching the spinoff? What are your thoughts on the opioid angle? Do you think she will be killed off in another way?
