Prince Harry Opens Up About Missing His Mom After Baby Archie’s Birth

In case you missed it, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially parents. The royal couple welcomed their first born on May 6th. The couple didn’t let the media see their newborn or even announce the baby’s name for a couple days, but we now know that his name is Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Although we had to wait a couple days to see Meghan and Archie, Prince Harry talked to the media sooner than that. He revealed that he only got a few hours sleep, and he certainly shared his excitement about being a dad.

Even though he is now a father, Prince Harry still has work obligations to attend to. He was involved in founding the Invictus Games, a sports competition that “embodies the fighting spirit of wounded, injured and sick Service personnel and personifies what these tenacious men and women can achieve post injury.”

Recently, Prince Harry was on a bike ride promoting the Invictus Games while wearing a special jacket that highlighted the words “I Am Daddy.” While on the bike ride, he talked to one of the veterans about Archie and about missing his mom, Princess Diana.

It can be easy to think that being royal is a privileged life, and there certainly are advantages, but Prince Harry and Prince William did grow up with one huge disadvantage. Losing your mother is something that nothing can replace.

We can only imagine how hard it must be to grow up without a mother especially as a member of the royal family. A mother to talk to and turn to probably would have been a source of comfort for Harry and William as they navigated life and that spotlight that comes with being royal.

Now that Harry is a dad, it seems that he’s thinking a lot about family, his own new family that’s growing, and his family life growing up.

Especially with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, temporarily staying with the couple at their home, Frogmore Cottage, it must make Harry wish his own mother could be there to celebrate during this joyous time.

It certainly sounds like little Archie is going to have a lot of fun things to do and a lot of great schools available nearby as he grows up.
