Prince Charles Reportedly ‘Feels Enormously Let Down’ by Meghan and Harry’s Claims of Racism

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle talked to Oprah Winfrey, they were very open about what their lives were like as senior members of the royal family. One of the shocking things Meghan said was that she was having suicidal thoughts but she was told by the institution that she could not go anywhere to get help for her mental health.

According to Meghan, one of the reason she felt suicidal was due to the British press’s false claims about her. She wanted the royal family to do something to make the negative stories stop, but they didn’t.

Prince Harry shared that he was disappointed that his father didn’t help. He felt that his father, if anyone, should be able to understand what they were going through due to the way that his mother, Princess Diana, struggled and ultimately lost her life. Harry said, “I feel really let down because he’s been through something similar. He knows what pain is like.”

Harry also shared that after stepping down as senior members of the royal family, at one point his father stopped taking his calls. According to Gayle King, the father and son have talked since the Oprah interview aired, but Harry did not think the conversation was productive.

What’s Prince Charles’s side of the story? The first report was that he was worried that his son’s comments would hurt his popularity. He was hoping to be a well-liked popular king one day.

Now, there are even more details. A source told People that Prince Charles “feels enormously let down” that his son and daughter-in-law claimed that the royal family was racist.

In case you missed it, during the Oprah interview, both Harry and Meghan revealed that someone in the family made comments before Archie was born about what color his skin might be. They would not reveal who made the comments, but Harry did tell Oprah that the Queen and Prince Philip were not part of those conversations.

The same source explained to People that Prince Charles “believes in diversity and his actions show that. He was the first person to highlight the Windrush generation and the contributions they made to British society. He has worked hard for the Muslim community. Of all the members of the royal family, he has taken this issue the most seriously.”

Do you think Prince Charles and Prince Harry will ever have a healthy father son relationship? Who do you think made the comments about Archie’s skin color?
