Report Says That Netflix Users Are Spending More Time Streaming ‘The Office’ Than Any Other Show

Some of you may have recently gotten an email from Netflix explaining their new price hike that goes into effect next month. You may be questioning if it’s still worth keeping the service, but if you like watching The Office, it’s reason enough to stay.

According to Nielsen’s 2018 streaming statistics, The Office is Netflix’s most watched show, followed by Friends and Grey’s Anatomy. Originally, the hit comedy ran on NBC from 2005 to 2013, and all nine seasons are available to watch on Netflix.

The show gained a following while it was on air but still attracts old fans and new audience members on the streaming platform. Even middle schoolers are tuning in and loving the series.

However, NBC has put plans in motion to launch its own streaming service and it’s a possibility that Netflix could lose the show from its lineup. Its contract with NBC is set to expire sometime in 2021, so clock your binge-watching hours in now.

Unlike other fan favorites like Arrested Development, The Office is not slated for a reboot on any platform. Star Steve Carell has previously said in interviews that he would not be interested in reviving the series, stating that he doesn’t believe they’d be able to recapture the magic.

If you love the show are one of the people contributing to Netflix’s high viewership numbers, you could give the company a reason to fight for it. It worked for Friends, and the company paid almost $100,000,000 to keep it. For many, this show and others could be worth the bump up to $12.99 a month.
