Jenna Fischer Got Some Great Surprise Gifts from “The Office” Costars, But the Box from Steve Carrell Completely Shocked Her

Back in 2005, one of the most iconic sitcoms came to America–The Office. The hilarious, heartwarming, and often uncomfortable (in a funny way, we swear!) show detailed the lives of a set of Scranton-based paper company colleagues, and the result was a television program that was as relatable as it was zany.

Though we definitely have a special place in our heart for ALL of the characters featured on the show–and there were MANY memorable ones over the almost decades-long run!–our favorite was the one who always managed to bring us back down to earth, even during the most far-out moments. The character we are speaking of is, of course, Pam Beesly.

Beesly, who was played by the phenomenal and unbelievably underrated actress, Jenna Fischer, had a sense of humor that was so dry, so accessible, that she pretty much ended up being our imaginary best friend throughout the series run.

Because we love the character so much, we have also made sure to follow Fischer’s career over the years. Recently, she made an appearance on Busy Philipps’ hilarious talk show, Busy Tonight, where the host enlisted a group of her former Office co-stars for some help. You see, Philipps had heard that Fischer’s birthday was just around the corner, so she decided to use her platform to give Fischer gifts sent by her former colleagues and friends, right on the air.

In total, Fischer received four presents, dressed in plain brown boxes, from these co-stars. Philipps’ intention was to keep the gifts anonymous, a la Secret Santa, but the sharp actress could name the gifters almost immediately upon opening the packages. As it turns out, she and her colleagues share quite a few inside jokes–some of which are connected to famous plotlines from the show.

While we definitely think you should watch the whole video for yourself to see the identity of the gifters revealed, we WILL tell you what she was gifted. Here they are in order:

  1. A jar of Raisin Crisps
  2. A shirt with a loaf of bread on it
  3. A miniature banjo (if you can’t guess who sent her this one, then you are not a true fan…)
  4. STEVE CARELL!

Yep, you read that correctly; the last present was a massive brown box that, in it, actually contained one of the most important members of the show. We always kind of figured that the co-stars were actually close in real life but even we were floored to see the comic superstar do this for Fischer. What a lovely birthday present that we, for one, wish we could have for ourselves.

Yep, you definitely need to watch the video for yourself. We promise, this is one of the coolest–and sweetest!– TV reunions we’ve seen in a really long time!

We’d love to hear your thoughts on this The Office reunion. Were you surprised by who was hiding in the box? Did you guess all of the hints correctly? What’s your favorite episode of the show?
