Meghan Markle Gives Fans a Glimpse of Her Stunning Santa Barbara Home
At the beginning of 2020, before the novel coronavirus was a pandemic, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they no longer wanted to be senior royals. They wanted to drop out of royal life and have the opportunity to live their own lives without all the media attention.
After a transition phase, Meghan and Harry left England and moved to Canada. Then they moved again, this time to Los Angeles right around the time the city was shutting all non-essential business down due to COVID-19.
The couple wasn’t quite settled yet. They moved one more time, this time over the summer, and this time to Santa Barbara, California. According to a spokesperson for the couple, “They have settled into the quiet privacy of their community since their arrival and hope that this will be respected for their neighbors, as well as for them as a family.”
This transition to “normal” life seems to have been effective so far. We definitely hear less about the young family than we used to, but that doesn’t mean that the media is completely leaving them alone. Here we are talking about them again, after all.
Recently, Meghan celebrated the one-year anniversary of her workwear clothing collection called the Smart Set. The clothing benefits a charity called Smart Works which helps provide women with the clothing and confidence they need to go to job interviews and ultimately get hired.
As part of the anniversary celebration, Meghan took part in a video call with Smart Works. Meghan was in her Santa Barbara home during the call, and part of her home can be seen in the background. You can watch the video below.
One notable part of her home’s decor is a piece of artwork over the fireplace. The artwork shows a bear holding the state of California which was taken from the sheet music “I Love You, California,” which was the original anthem for the western state.
It should come as no surprise that Meghan loves California. After all, she was born and raised in California and must be very happy to be back home after her short stay in England.
