Reese Witherspoon Hints at Some Huge ‘Legally Blonde’ News
Many movie sequels aren’t as good as the original movies, but we still enjoyed the 2003 sequel, “Legally Blond 2: Red, White and Blond.”
It’s been many years since Elle Woods last graced the big screen, but it sounds like it might finally be time to turn the movies into a trilogy. At least, Reese Witherspoon has been hinting about the possibility of a new movie.
Back in 2016, for the 15th anniversary of the original movie, Witherspoon tried on all of her old costumes to celebrate. One of them was a pink bikini that she wore in the original movie.
In June 2018, Witherspoon posted a video of herself wearing the same pink bikini. It was a video taken in 2016. Similar to the original movie, Witherspoon was floating in a swimming pool on a pool float. The caption was everything. It read: “It’s true.” That could only mean one thing; the possibility of another “Legally Blond” movie.
Recently, Witherspoon was a guest on Ellen DeGeneres’s talk show, “Ellen.” DeGeneres definitely made sure to ask about “Legally Blond.” Witherspoon not only made it sound like it’s a possibility. It sounded like it will eventually happen. She said,
Well, we’re meeting about it. We’re definitely talking about it. I mean, it’s sort of about women being underestimated and I think it’s sort of a good idea. Things have changed, but not that much has changed! I loved playing that character and she’s so amazing. I don’t know, if you guys want it then I guess I’ll do it!
You hear that? If we, the fans of the movie, want to see a third movie, then Witherspoon is on board. Is there a petition we can sign somewhere to get this ball rolling?

Beyond Witherspoon’s comments about “Legally Blond,” it looks like the new movie could be here sooner than we thought, that is, if this Instagram post is right.
