Kanye West Faces Backlash Over ‘Disgusting’ Treatment of Pete Davidson In Latest Music Video
Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West in February 2021. About a year later, a judge agreed to her request to be officially declared legally single.
The divorce process has been a messy one, but Kardashian has clearly been handling it better than West. She went from crying about the breakup to starting a new relationship with comedian Pete Davidson.
Meanwhile, West publicly begged for Kardashian to come back to him, and he bought a house across the street from her. While those things could be considered somewhat sweet and perhaps a move to be close to his kids, his most recent move has caused quite a bit of blacklash.
Just hours after the judge declared Kardashian legally single, West dropped the music video for his new single “Eazy.” In the video, a claymation version of Davidson is kidnapped and buried alive. Some fans say West went too far.
Watch the video below to learn more about this disturbing music video and the backlash that followed.
Davidson, who is currently 28-years-old, was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD) when he was 23. He felt “so much better” when he was diagnosed instead of feeling “confused all the time.”
People with BPD can be a suicide risk. Davidson admits that he attempted suicide when he was a child and has had suicidal thoughts as an adult. He is currently on medication to manage his BPD, but West’s music video certainly can’t be good for his mental health.
Meanwhile, West was diagnosed with Biopolar Disorder in 2016 after he was hospitalized for a psychiatric emergency. There are two extremes for someone who is bipolar – mania and depression. When a person has a manic episode, they may not be thinking clearly and might make decisions with poor judgement.
In 2019, West told David Letterman, “If you don’t take medication every day to keep you at a certain state, you have a potential to ramp up and it can take you to a point where you can even end up in the hospital. And you start acting erratic, as TMZ would put it.”
We do not know whether or not West is taking his medication as prescribed, but it seems that many fans are finding his latest music video to be an example of poor judgement.
Do you think West’s music video was inappropriate? Do you think Kardashian and Davidson should file a restraining order against West?
