Kaley Cuoco On Why She Will “Never Get Married Again”

If a marriage doesn’t work out, is it best to be alone forever, or try again? Actress Kaley Cuoco, who has been married twice, says she never wants to do it again.

The Big Bang Theory star was most recently married to professional equestrian Karl Cook, but has since split after three years of wedded (not so) bliss. Her first husband was tennis player Ryan Sweeting, which also lasted three years—from 2013 to 2016.

“I will never get married again,” she firmly stated in her April 2022 interview for Glamour.

Does that mean she’s going to be alone forever? Not necessarily. Cuoco says she’s open to dating and even being in a long-term relationship. But going through with actual marriage is a hard no for her. “I would love to have a long-lasting relationship or a partnership. But I will never get married again,” she said. “Absolutely not. You can literally put that on the cover,” she added, referring to her cover story for the magazine.

Cuoco officially filed for divorce from Cook in Los Angeles Superior Court in September 2021. “Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions,” a statement for Page Six read the very same day.

So what exactly happened to be grounds for ending in divorce? The two aren’t sharing very many details, and ask that the public doesn’t pry into their private life about it.

“We have made this decision together through an immense amount of respect and consideration for one another and request that you do the same in understanding that we will not be sharing any additional details or commenting further,” the statement read.

After Cuoco got divorced from Sweeting, she actually said something similar—that she probably wouldn’t marry again. But when she met Cook, that all changed for her. “I honestly thought I wouldn’t get married again. My ex ruined that word for me,” she shared in a 2018 Cosmopolitan interview.

The issue she had with Sweeting was that he wasn’t the same person at the end of the marriage that he was in the beginning. “I married someone the first time who completely changed. The person I ended up with was not the person I originally met. And that wasn’t my fault — that was his,” she stated.

She continued, “I knew how much I had to give and how much I wanted to receive. I knew I just had to be patient … I had to go through a lot of things, but it brought me to Karl.”

A lot can change in a few years—we’re so curious what happened! What do you think could’ve been the cause for their divorce? Do you think Cuoco will find love again?
