Johnny Depp Concludes Testifying After 4 Grueling Days on the Stand

The court case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is moving forward. Both Depp and Heard claim that they were victims of domestic abuse, but Depp is attempting to clear his name.

It all started when Heard wrote an op-ed saying that she was a victim of domestic violence. She had divorced Depp in 2017, and the op-ed was published in 2018. Even though she didn’t mention Depp by name, the timing seemed to insinuate that she was saying Depp had abused her.

Depp filed a $50 million lawsuit against Heard for ruining his reputation and his career. He claims that he is innocent and that he never physically abused Heard. Instead, he says she was the one who abused him.

After four days of testimony, Depp’s time on the stand is over. He has answered numerous questions and recalled many different stories. For example, he explained how one of his fingers was severed when Heard threw a bottle at him. He also explained the meaning behind different texts and recorded conversations.

According to Depp, he is the only person he has ever physically abused. He stated, “The only person I’ve abused in my life is myself.”

In one recording from 2016 we hear Depp say “take my blood.” Depp explained that he and Heard met up in San Francisco. The meeting was arranged by their former manager. Depp brought a pocket knife with him to the meeting, but he explained that Heard was never in any danger. Instead, he told Heard to cut him with the knife and “take my blood.” He explained, “I was at the end. I was broken. Take my blood. It’s all I’ve got left to give you. Obviously, there was no threat to Ms. Heard with that knife, it was about spilling my blood because I thought that was the only thing she didn’t have at that point.”

Watch the video below to hear more of Depp’s testimony including his response when Heard told him, “Tell the world Johnny, tell them Johnny Depp, I Johnny Depp, a man, I’m a victim too of domestic violence.”

Do you think Depp will successfully be able to clear his name? Do you believe Depp that he never physically abused anyone but himself?
