A year ago, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck rekindled the romance they put on hold 2 decades ago. They were engaged once upon a time, and just like in a movie, they found each other again and realized the love was still there.
Last month, Lopez and Affleck decided that they were ready to get married, and the couple made a spur of the moment decision to go to Las Vegas to tie the knot. They waited in line to get their marriage license before legally getting married at A Little White Chapel. Even without an Elvis impersonator at the ceremony, they were very happy with the way the wedding turned out.
Lopez shared, “In the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined.”
Don’t let that statement mislead you. It turns out that the couple didn’t mean that they were 100% okay with a low key wedding in Las Vegas as their official wedding. No, the couple quickly made plans to throw a lavish multi-day wedding for themselves at Affleck’s private estate in Georgia.
TMZ reported that the wedding would take place at Affleck’s home in Riceboro, Georgia, which is about an hour from Savannah. His home, which is set on 87 acres of property, includes a 6,000 square foot main house with 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
Instead of only having a couple of their children at their wedding like in Las Vegas, this time, the duo is inviting their family and multiple A-list friends including Matt Damon, Jimmy Kimmel and Drea de Matteo.
The event will take place this weekend, and it is expected to involve three days of celebrations. On Friday, the party will kick off with a rehearsal dinner. The wedding will take place on Saturday. And Sunday, the event will conclude with a picnic and barbecue.
An insider told Page Six that Affleck wants the wedding weekend “to be all about J.Lo.” The insider added, “Ben wants all of the focus to be on her for their big day.”
Vogue will be documenting Lopez’s fashion all weekend, but it is believed that Lopez’s wedding dress is a custom couture Ralph Lauren gown which was made in Italy.
Lopez has been spotted at Affleck’s estate most likely reviewing details of the event, but she is far from planning the event on her own. The couple has hired event planner Colin Cowie. His event planning rates range from $25,000 all the way up to $25 million depending on the client’s requests. Lopez has hired him to produce events for her in the past, but he has also planned events for celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Michael Jordan.
Page Six’s source says JLo will be keeping fans updated about the event via her On the JLo newsletter.
