The First ‘Harry Potter’ Book Will Be Read in Its Entirety by Daniel Radcliffe and a Laundry List of Celebrities

We love listening to a good book on tape, especially when we have some extra time on our hands (hello, coronavirus quarantine of 2020).

Luckily, the author of the Harry Potter book series, JK Rowling, also loves book recording. Get ready to have something to look forward to again, Potter fans!

Over the next few months, various celebrities will take turns reading each chapter of the first book in the Harry Potter series, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” Fans will be able to listen to the chapters via video recordings that will be posted each week on harrypotterathome.com. There will also be free audio versions available to listen to on Spotify.

Excited yet? Wait until you see the list of celebs you can expect to hear from during one of the 17 chapters of the book: Stephen Fry, David Beckham, Dakota Fanning, Claudia Kim, Noma Dumezweni and Eddie Redmayne, to name just a few.

However, what would a Harry Potter reading be without sir Harry Potter himself? The very first chapter will be read by none other than Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who plays Harry Potter in the movie series. You can check it out here.

The Harry Potter book recordings are part of a COVID-19 initiative called Harry Potter at Home. The The endeavor began between the Wizarding World Digital and the Blair Partnership, which is Rowling’s agency and includes partners such as Warner Bros, Bloomsbury, Scholastic, and Pottermore Publishing.

You can learn more about the initiative here.

We can only hope they continue out the tradition with the other six books in the series once the first one is done!

Are you a Harry Potter fan? Are you going to listen to each chapter via these celebrities?
