‘Twilight’ Fans, Rejoice! A New Companion Book from Edward’s Perspective Will Hit Shelves In August

Raise your hand if you’re a fan of Edward Cullen.

If you love the Twilight series, let us halt all the negative coronavirus updates in your feed for some good news instead: Author of the popular books, Stephanie Meyer, has recently announced that she will be releasing the new companion book to the installment.

The new book, called Midnight Sun, is the exact same story as the first book, except this time, it will be told from the point of view of Cullen himself. The book will be released on August 4, 2020.

Meyers wasn’t sure if she should delay the release of the new book due to the pandemic, but she figured this might actually be a better time than any.

“It feels strange to be making this announcement when the world is suffering through a pandemic, and no one really knows what’s next. I thought seriously about delaying this announcement until things were back to normal; however, that felt wrong, considering how long those who are eager for this book have already waited,” Meyer said in a statement.

“I know how much I personally need distractions right now, how much I need something to look forward to, and most of all, how much I need more books to read,” she continued. “So, I hope this book gives my readers a little pleasure to anticipate and, after it arrives, a chance to live in an imaginary world for a while.”

It’s too bad we have to wait until August to get inside Cullens’ head, but we’re so excited for this new book!
