Tesla and Space X founder Elon Musk is more than just an innovator. He is also a dad. Musk has a total of 7 children plus one angel baby. His first child died of SIDS at just 10 weeks old.

Musk and his ex-wife Justine Wilson turned to IVF to have children after the death of their first child. They ended up having 5 children together. One set of twins who were born in 2004 followed by triplets who were born in 2006. All of them were boys.

More recently, Musk and his most recent partner, Grimes, have welcomed two children into the world. They currently have a 1-year-old boy and a baby girl, Musk’s first daughter. However, Musk now has two daughters; although, one wants nothing to do with him.

One of Musk’s twins, who recently turned 18, has transitioned and has filed for a legal name change and a new birth certificate to reflect the change in gender identity. Musk’s child is doing more than just changing her name due to a change in gender identity. Musk’s child is also severing ties with her dad.

TMZ reports that according to court documents, Musk’s child wishes to change her name from Xavier Alexander Musk to Vivian Jenna Wilson. She will be taking on her mother’s last name instead of her father’s last name. She indicated that she identifies as female, but it seems that is only part of the reason for the name change. As a reason for the name change, she explained, “Gender Identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”

Musk has not spoken about any dispute between himself and his children but it seems clear that there must have been some sort of falling out between father and child. Watch the video below for more details about Musk’s child’s name change request.

Is the falling out between Musk and his child due to an issue of gender identity? This is unclear. Musk has previously tweeted, “I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare.” He also tweeted, “Pronouns suck.”
