Bruce Willis’ Wife Shares New Video Of the Actor Following Aphasia Diagnosis Announcement

If you’re a Bruce Willis fan, you’ve probably heard that the Sixth Sense and Die Hard star has left his acting career indefinitely. The news was made public when his ex-wife, Demi Moore (with who he shares three children), shared the news of him having aphasia.

“Our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” she had told the public.

Aphasia is a brain disorder that can affect a person’s ability to communicate and understand language. According to the Mayo Clinic, common symptoms of aphasia include speaking or writing words and sentences that don’t make sense or not being able to always understand what other people are saying.

Recently, Willis’ current wife, Emma Heming, shared a video of the actor playing a round of basketball happily with a few other friends. “I see you BeeDub,” she sweetly captioned the video, which appeared in her Instagram Story.

Understandably so, Heming has been struggling with Willis’ diagnosis. She recently spoke with The Bump about how she’s been feeling regarding it. She discussed how her initial instinct was to pour everything into her family (the two share daughters Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 8). However, in the end, that only seemed to make things worse.

“I put my family’s needs above my own, which I found does not make me any kind of hero,” she said. “That amount of care for everyone else within my household had taken a toll on my mental health and overall health. And it served no one in my family.”

To help feel better, she made sure that she made time for her own self-care each day, even while being a mom and having a husband with aphasia.

“Someone told me not long ago that when you over-care for someone, you end up under-caring for yourself,” she said. “That stopped me in my tracks and really resonated with me.”

Understanding how she feels with her husband going through such a scary healh diagnosis, it’s nice to see her standing by the sidelines—and Willis in such good spirits.
