5 Refreshing Iced Tea Recipes That Will Brighten Up Your Day
It may not feel like it (since you’ve probably been quarantining in your home since mid-March), but summer is right around the corner. And even if we’re all still stuck in isolation when the season arrives, it’s still fun to start thinking about the things we can do—even if we have to do it at home.
For example, think of all the cool, refreshing recipes you can make in your kitchen. From fresh fruit layered popsicles to fruit sangria, we have tons of summer recipes you can dive into.
However, personally one of our favorite summer recipes has to be iced tea. The drink is super refreshing, plus it’s versatile enough where you can adapt it to make it all your own.
If you’re an iced tea fan, you’re going to want to stick around. Sara Lynn Cauchon, also known as The Domestic Geek, has recently shared five different ways to make iced tea on her YouTube channel, which is dedicated to making easy recipes—and each one sounds better than the next.
Let’s dive right in, shall we? The first iced tea recipe Sarah teaches us how to make is an orange rosemary iced tea. Like any of these recipes, the recipe starts with some tea—duh!
Once the tea is steeping away, that’s when you’ll add some rosemary sprigs and the zest of an orange. You can add some honey if you like it on the sweeter side, or omit it if not. If you want to add just a bit more orange flavor, pour the tea over some sliced oranges before you chill it in the fridge.
Next up is a blackberry mint iced tea. Start with some green or black tea, adding mint leaves and some sugar before it steeps. Once you strain it, pour it over some fresh blackberries.
The third iced tea recipe is for the spice lovers out there: It’s a jalapeno strawberry iced tea. Skip right over this if you can’t even put pepper on your food without sweating, but trust us: It’s an amazing recipe if you like things hot!
Once again, the recipe for this one starts with tea, adding about half a jalapeno and sugar before letting it steep. Strain, let it cool, and then pour it over some big, juicy strawberries.
The next two ice tea variations Sarah makes are a peach basil iced tea and a pomegranate hibiscus iced tea. As with the first three, she carefully goes through each step, displaying on screen how to make each one.
