5 Iced Starbucks Drinks That You Can Make at Home

Does it feel like summer where you live? It does for some people, and it will for most of us very soon. Those warm days have us craving ice cold drinks, and at the top of that list is iced coffee.

Did you know that it’s fairly easy to make popular Starbucks beverages at home? Whether you want to save money or if you’re trying to avoid picking up food and beverages from your local coffee spot (because coronavirus), these easy recipes will keep you cool and caffeinated.

Watch the video below to see how easy it is make the following drinks at home: Salted Cold Foam Cold Brew, Caramel Macchiato, Iced White Mocha, Vanilla Latte, and Double Shot On Ice.

As you probably noticed in the video, some of the ingredients and tools that you need to make these beverages are pretty common in most kitchens and some are not. You probably already have milk, water and espresso or strong coffee, but you may not have the syrups or the Magic Bullet blender shown in the video.

You can easily pick up the necessary syrups at your local grocery store or order them on Amazon. As far as a blender, if you don’t have one, you can use a hand mixer or whatever blender you happen to have. In most cases the blender is being used to make homemade whipped cream, so in a pinch, you can simply buy premade whipped cream.

The easiest of the iced drinks to make is probably the Vanilla Latte, which happens to be my personal favorite. You simply combine 1 cup milk, 1/2 tbsp vanilla syrup and 1/2 cup ice. Then mix in 2 cups of espresso.

Another simple iced drink is the Double Shot on Ice. Sweeten 2 cups of espresso with your desired sweetener. Then add ice to espresso, and make sure you’re using a cup with a secure lid. Shake for 10-20 seconds or until you see foam. Then remove the lid, add 1 or 2 tablespoons of milk and enjoy.

For an Iced White Mocha, combine milk with 1/2 cup ice. Add 2 tbsp white mocha sauce (regular mocha sauce would work for an Iced Mocha) and 2 cups of espresso. Stir to combine. Make and top with optional whipped cream.

To make a Caramel Macchiato, combine 2-5 tbsp or either caramel or vanilla syrup, 1 cup milk and 1/2 cup ice. Then add 2 cups of espresso and top with 2 tbsp caramel sauce.

The most complicated drink to make is the first one shown in the video, the Salted Cold Foam Cold Brew. This one is complicated simply because you need a cold brew pitcher, and it takes 12-24 hours to make cold brew. Once you make the cold brew, pour 2 cups in your favorite cup. Add a half cup ice and 3-5 tbsp caramel sauce. Then make the foam by combining a half cup heavy cream and a pinch of salt. You’ll need to mix it in a blender or with a hand mixer.
