The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade has made a lot of headlines. 1. Ashley Judd

   In 2019, Ashley Judd told Katie Couric that she is “a 3-time rape survivor.” One of those instances led to pregnancy. She decided to get an abortion because “Because the rapist, who is a Kentuckian, as am I, and I reside in Tennessee, has paternity rights in Kentucky and Tennessee. I would’ve had to co-parent with my rapist.”

2. Laura Prepon

   The “That 70’s Show” actress revealed that she made the decision to terminate a pregnancy when she was told that her baby’s “brain was not growing and the bones were not growing.” She explained, “We were told the pregnancy would not go to full term and that my body was at risk carrying any longer.”

3. Whoopie Goldberg

   When Whoopie Goldberg was 14-year-old, she missed her period and discovered that she was pregnant. In the book “The Choices We Made,” Goldberg admits that she drank strange concoctions to try to end the pregnancy. She explained, “I got violently ill. At that moment I was more afraid of having to explain to anybody what was wrong than of going to the park with a hanger, which is what I did.”

4. Busy Philipps

   When Busy Philipps was 15, she chose to have an abortion. She explained, “It’s a medical thing—a thing, a choice that I made, and I don’t regret it at all.” She added, “I’m glad I didn’t have that guy’s baby.”

5. Rose Mcgowan

   Rose Mcgowan admits to having had an abortion. She explained, “I was on birth control and it failed.”

6. Alyssa Milano

   Alyssa Milano says that she had an abortion because “I knew at that time, I was not equipped to be a mother.” She added, “It was my choice. And it was absolutely the right choice for me.”

7. Uma Thurman

   Uma Thurman admits that she “was accidentally impregnated by a much older man” when she was 15 years old. At first she wanted to keep the baby but she “I was just starting out in my career and didn’t have the means to provide a stable home, even for myself.” She talked to her parents about it, and they decided terminating the pregnancy was the best decision.

8. Stevie Nicks

   Back in 1979, Stevie Nicks had an abortion. She explained to The Guardian, “If I had not had that abortion, I’m pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac. There’s just no way that I could have had a child then, working as hard as we worked constantly.” She added, “And I knew that the music we were going to bring to the world was going to heal so many people’s hearts and make people so happy. And I thought: you know what? That’s really important.”

9. Nicki Minaj

   Nicki Minaj had an abortion when she was a teenager. She explained, “I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have anything to offer a child.”

10. Minka Kelly

    Minka Kelly shared on Instagram that she had an abortion when she “was younger.” She explained, “For a baby to’ve been born to two people — too young and completely ill equipped — with no means or help from family, would have resulted in a child born into an unnecessary world of struggle.”

    Amber Tamblyn tweeted that she had an abortion back in 2012. She admits that she still thinks about that decision, but she does not “regret” it. She explained, “It was the right choice for me, at that time in my life. I have not a single doubt about this.”

12. Chelsea Handler

    Chelsea Handler got pregnant when she was 16 years old. She wanted to keep the baby, but her parents helped her realize that she was not responsible enough to raise a child and took her to Planned Parenthood. Handler explained, “Of course, the idea that I would have a child and raise it by myself at that age, when I couldn’t even find my way home at night, was ridiculous. My parents recognized that, so they acted like parents for one of the very first times in my life and took me to Planned Parenthood. I felt parented, ironically, while I was getting an abortion. And when it was over, I was relieved in every possible way.”

13. Vanessa Williams

    When Vanessa Williams was in high school, she got pregnant and decided to have an abortion. In her book “Desperate Housewives,” the actress explains, “Being pregnant is the most frightening thing that happens in your life. I knew in high school that’s something that I was not prepared to do, or fight, or struggle with.”

14. Toni Braxton

    In her memoir, “Unbreak My Heart: A Memoir,” Toni Braxton admits that she had an abortion at a time when she was struggling financially. She explained that she felt “selfish” but thought “I’m going through bankruptcy — there are things going on with my life, and I can’t give this kid any future.”

    Cheryl Burke had an abortion when she was 18. She explained on TikTok that she was on birth control, but she got pregnant anyway. She was just two weeks pregnant when she went to Planned Parenthood to have the baby aborted.
