Last week, at the age of 40, Stephen tWitch Boss, the former DJ on “The Ellen DeGenerous Show,” took his own life. While his family didn’t see it coming, and his grandfather claimed there weren’t any warning signs, a friend of Boss is now speaking out claiming that it’s possible Boss was depressed after the end of the “Ellen” show.

DJ Boof admits that he doesn’t know for sure if Boss was depressed or not, but he feels that he is one of the few people, and perhaps the only person, who can closely relate to what Boss was going through after being the DJ on a successful talk show for many years.

DJ Boof was the DJ on “The Wendy Williams Show” for ten years. He told The U.S. Sun, “We were the only ones to be a DJ at a successful talk show. I don’t know what the reason is for why he is not around- but sometimes you wish you had a closer relationship with someone if you think you may be in a position to offer support.” He added, “When you and somebody else are in the same line of work, you can bounce ideas off each other, and in our line of work- there were only two: me and him.”

When “The Wendy Williams Show” ended, DJ Boof felt “depressed” and “hurt.” He doesn’t know for sure if that’s how Boss felt, but it’s possible since it was a similar experience. He said, “I know what it feels like to be at a talk show for that long. It’s difficult when it’s over.”

Although Boss and DJ Boof weren’t close friends, DJ Boof explained that he reached out to Boss after the “Ellen” show ended. He explained, “I reached out to him after the Ellen show ended, just to show my support because I know what it feels like to be at a talk show for years and then to have that disappear.” DJ Boof said, “I wish I was closer to him. I could have told him, ‘I know what you’re going through because I’ve been through that. Yeah, it’s a tough time, trust me, I understand.'”

According to the LAPD, Boss died from “a self-inflicted gunshot wound and no foul play is suspected.” He was only 40 years old. He had celebrated his 9 year wedding anniversary with his wife just days before his death. He leaves behind three children.

Do you think the ending of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” had anything to do with Boss’s death?
