Starting in May, Smoking Will Be Completely Banned Inside Walt Disney Theme Parks

Disney is instituting a new ban that will prohibit smoking inside their theme parks. Its current policy allows it at designated smoking areas throughout their properties.

The change was announced via blog post on the Disney website and states the new policy will go into effect on May 1 of this year.

“Also beginning May 1, smoking areas will no longer be present inside Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex or Downtown Disney in California.”

Guests can smoke or vape outside the parks at the entrances, or in the designated areas at their hotels and resorts. Currently, no smoking is allowed inside hotel rooms or on the balconies.

Rules on stroller sizes are also being changed and larger strollers will no longer be permitted. Disney states that all these changes are being made so that everyone can have an enjoyable experience.

Smoke-free laws are being enacted and enforced throughout the country to reduce public health issues related to tobacco use, secondhand smoke, and vaping. Recently, Los Angeles County banned smoking, e-cigarettes, and marijuana use in or around county facilities as well as within 25 feet of outdoor restaurant seating areas.
