When a woman has a baby, she can either feed the baby by breastfeeding, using formula or a combination of each. Different women choose different options for different reasons, but whatever they decide, the baby needs to be exclusively breastfed and/or formula fed for the first few months of life.

Usually, about a year or so into a baby’s life, a woman ends or tapers off the breastfeeding journey. Some women choose to breastfeed their children into the toddler years, but anything beyond that is pretty unusual.

Here’s something even more unusual. An adult woman breastfeeding not a baby or toddler but her adult boyfriend.

Jennifer Mulford had a baby girl 20 years ago. She still remembers the bond that breastfeeding her daughter for 8 months created. She does not want to have another child, but she does want to experience that bond again, this time with a boyfriend.

Mulford learned about adult breastfeeding relationships (ABR), and the more she learned the more she liked. According to The Sun, Mulford said, “When I read about the bond breastfeeding could create between two people I was envious. I have always enjoyed my breasts being touched during sex more than anything else so I knew I would enjoy it.”

Mulford decided to find a boyfriend who would be open to the idea of ABR, but she struck out almost everywhere she looked. She said, “I used dating sites, put messages on ABR forums and even put an advert on Craigslist, but I drew a blank. I started to think I’d never get to try adult breastfeeding.”

Then, she found a man who was open to ABR, her old high school boyfriend, Brad Leeson. Mulford explained, “We were talking and Brad told me he had a thing for big-breasted women, and that size had always been a factor in his relationships. I thought it was the perfect time to bring up adult breastfeeding – and see if he’d be interested.” She added, “It was like a light switched flicked in his head. I could tell from his voice that he was curious and excited.”

The pair quickly went from friends to more than friends, but in order for their dream to become a reality, they had to fool Mulford’s body into thinking she was feeding a baby. In order to induce lactation, Leeson has to suckle, or Mulford has to pump every 2 hours. Mulford has quit her job to make this possible, and she has set an alarm so she doesn’t forget. She also drinks Mother’s Milk Tea, takes a pill called Lactiful and has added oatmeal and flaxseed to her diet – all things that are supposed to help increase a woman’s milk supply.

While Mulford likes the idea of ABR to increase her bond with her boyfriend, Leeson thinks Mulford’s milk will help him get in even better shape. He’s excited about the potential health benefits.
