Sarah Jessica Parker Confirms ‘Sex and the City’ Reboot Coming to HBO Max

Back in 1998, we fell in love with a show about 4 single women living, working and navigating complicated relationships in New York City. After 6 seasons of watching the lives of Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York, Miranda Hobbes and Samantha Jones while envying their wardrobes and their friendships, we had to say goodbye. Thankfully, there were 2 follow-up movies, but it has been a long time since we saw our favorite stars having lunch in Manhattan.

Now, Sarah Jessica Parker, the actress who plays Carrie Bradshaw, has confirmed that “Sex and the City” will be making a comeback. This is not a dream. It is reality.

The rebooted show will be called “And Just Like That” and it will air exclusively on streaming service HBO Max. Although the show has been confirmed, there is no official trailer, just a few scenes from New York that leave us wanting more.

HBO has ordered 10 episodes of “And Just Like That” which will each be 30 minutes long. The show is set to start production sometime this spring, so it is going to be awhile before we finally see these new episodes. We’re still pretty excited!

In a press release, Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max, said, “I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humor and the beloved city that has always defined them.”

While the new show will be about the original characters, there will be one friend missing. Watch the video below to find out which of the four ladies will not be returning for the reboot.

While nothing has been confirmed, it’s rumored that Kim Cattrall (who played Samantha) does not get along with Parker and has a strained relationship with the show. It’ll be interesting to see how the show’s writers explain the absence of Samantha.

Are you excited about “And Just Like That”? How do you think the show will explain the absence of Samantha?
