The relationship between Prince Harry and his family is strained to say the least. Last year, the British royal and his wife, Meghan Markle, chose to step down as senior members of the royal family. They also moved across the pond to Canada before moving once again to California at the beginning on the pandemic.

Harry will always be related to the royal family by blood, but he is not on the best terms with his brother, Prince William, and his father, Prince Charles. Yet, Harry has flown back to the U.K. when it really matters. He was there for his grandfather’s funeral, but the time with family was not a time of reconciliation.

Yet, it seems that the prince is still on good terms with his grandmother, the Queen. Prior to his grandfather’s death, Harry and Meghan used to video chat with the Queen and Prince Philip so they could see their great-grandson, Archie.

During the bombshell interview with Oprah, Harry and Meghan revealed that someone in the family seemed concerned about what color Archie’s skin would be, basically indicating that someone was racist. Harry refused to tell Oprah who made the comment, but he wanted her to know that it wasn’t his grandparents.

Although Harry has said negative things about the royal family, he has not directly insulted the Queen, and it seems that she is still on his side. Recently, during a meeting with Boris Johnson, she showed him some family photos including one of Harry and Meghan. Now, she is showing her support of the couple in another way.

The Queen is getting ready to celebrate her birthday, and she has officially invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to the Platinum Jubilee. The celebration will last 4 days. The couple is expected to join the Trooping the Colour, which is an official parade for the Queen’s birthday. 

What is not clear is if Harry and Meghan will join members of the royal family on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Royal Air Force flyover. The couple has joined the Queen for the flyover previously, but they were senior royals at the time. Only so many people can be on the balcony, so which is more important, blood or royal status?
