Prince Harry Criticized Prince Charles’ Parenting in Latest Interview

Ever wonder what it’s like to be raised as a prince? According to Prince Harry, it’s not all that great. In fact, he claims that he has wanted to break the negative cycle of parenting in his family for years.

Prince Harry recently went on Dax Shepard‘s podcast, Armchair Expert, and he didn’t have anything positive to say about his dad’s parenting style. That’s right. There’s already a rift between Harry and the rest of his family, and he didn’t attempt to heal any wounds during this interview.

What did Prince Charles do that was so terribly wrong? “He treated me the way he was treated.” That comment means that he’s not only criticizing hid dad’s parenting, but he’s also criticizing his grandparents’ parenting. That’s right, we’re talking about The Queen and her late husband, Prince Philip.

He explained, “I never saw it, I never knew about it, and then suddenly I started to piece it together and go, ‘OK, so this is where he went to school, this is what happened, I know this about his life, I also know that is connected to his parents, so that means he’s treated me the way he was treated, so how can I change that for my own kids?’”

Harry added that he has wanted to “break the cycle” since he was in his 20s. “I was in my early 20s and I was thinking, ‘I don’t want this job, I don’t want to be here. I don’t want to be doing this. Look what it did to my mum; how am I ever going to settle down and have a wife and family when I know it’s going to happen again?”

Previously, in his interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry claimed that he never knew he was “trapped” in the royal family until he met his wife. Now, it seems his story has changed. It seems that he had been unhappy with life as a royal for a long time and was wondering what he could do to change his circumstances.

Meghan saw how her husband’s mental health was suffering. He says she supported his decision to walk away from royal duties telling him she “didn’t need to be a princess.”

Harry seems completely happy with his decision to relocate to the United States. He explained, “And here I am, I moved my whole family to the US, that wasn’t the plan but sometimes you’ve got to make decisions and put your family first and put your mental health first.”

It sounds like Harry’s mental health has indeed improved since moving across the pond. “My shoulders have dropped, so have hers, you can walk around feeling a little bit more free, I can take Archie on the back of my bicycle, I would never have had the chance to do that.”

How do you think Prince Charles and the rest of the British royal family is reacting to Prince Harry’s comments? Do you think he will ever mend the rift between him and his family?
