Oprah Defends Harry and Meghan’s Unorthodox Royal Birth Plans

For generation after generation, the royal family had a tradition when it came to a new baby entering the world. We saw it when Prince William and Prince Harry were born. We saw it again each time Kate gave birth.

What’s the tradition? Just hours after each baby was born, the new mom stood before cameras and the world, a smile on her face, her newborn baby cradled in her arms, waving and looking perfectly happy.

We don’t know about you, but hours after giving birth, the last thing we would’ve wanted to do was stand in front of the media having our picture taken.

Meghan Markle has chosen to do things differently. Although she reportedly gave birth earlier today, we have yet to see her stand in front of a camera. We haven’t seen the baby yet. We do know that the baby is a boy, but we don’t know his name.

We don’t even know if the Duchess gave birth at home or at a hospital.

Not everyone likes that Meghan has chosen to break tradition. As anxious as we are to see baby Sussex, as parents ourselves, we understand her decision. Like we said, after giving birth, we definitely wouldn’t have wanted a media camera snapping our photo.

Oprah is siding with the Duchess as well. She was at the couple’s wedding, and she’s in constant communication with Prince Harry due to a Netflix series they’re collaborating on about mental health.

Watch the video below to hear what Oprah has to say about Meghan’s brave decision to break tradition.

Are you excited to see pictures of the newest member of the royal family? Do you think it was a good idea or a bad idea for Meghan to break tradition and choose not to let the media and the world see her and her baby shortly after birth?
