Kate Middleton‘s fashion sense has been a news item for some time. As a duchess turned princess, her style is sure to be followed more than ever, if that’s even possible.

Recently, Middleton’s jewelry choices have gotten a lot of attention. While she has been wearing black, due to mourning the late Queen’s passing, she has accessorized with earrings, necklaces and broaches that are quite sentimental and very valuable.

One accessory that has gotten a lot of attention is a necklace that Middleton wore to the Queen’s funeral. This particular necklace is a choker with four strands of pearls and a diamond-shaped clasp. The necklace once belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II, and it was a gift to Middleton.

Queen Elizabeth II was seen wearing the same necklace multiple times. One example is in 1983 when she wore it on a trip to Bangladesh.

Prince William’s mother, Princess Diana, also wore the same necklace. One example is in 1982, when Diana wore the necklace at Hampton Court Palace during a royal banquet.

Now that the necklace belongs to Middleton, she has worn it multiple times. In 2017, she wore the necklace during a celebration for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s 70th wedding anniversary. Then in 2021, she wore the same necklace to Prince Philip’s funeral.

This 4-strand pearl necklace is far from the only sentimental piece of jewelry that Princess Kate has worn recently. The pearl earrings, diamond and pearl broaches and a particularly sentimental 3-strand pearl necklace were all part of the Queen’s jewelry collection as well. In fact, the 3-strand pearl necklace is the same necklace the Queen wore practically every day.
