Legally Blonde fans, rejoice! There is going to be a Legally Blonde 3 after all.

If you can believe it, the first Legally Blonde movie came out in 2001, with the second, “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde,” premiering just two years later in 2003. Ever since, we’ve all been craving more, holding out for yet another iconic bend and snap moment.

There has been talks of a third film happening, but nothing too concrete until now. Well, it’s happening. And we think it could be the best three-quel yet, considering there’s an awesome tag-team happening.

First off, what would a third installment of the movie be without Reese Witherspoon herself? Of course, she’s coming back to reprise her role as Elle Woods, though there hasn’t been any news about Bruiser Woods, her little chihuahua sidekick (though we can’t imagine he won’t be there!).

Additionally, comedian and actress Mindy Kaling will be co-writing the script for the third film, along with comedy writer Dan Goor.

What can we expect from the plot? Well, other than a lot of laughs considering the writers, there isn’t a ton of info out there yet. However, Luke Wilson, who plays Emmett, Elle’s husband in the film, did tease a few details.

“I would say [Elle and Emmett] definitely have a few children and I just think that it’d be really funny if Reese had a little mini-me, a version of herself,” he said. “I would definitely think that they’d have a couple of children.”

Oh man, we can’t wait! There hasn’t been an official release date yet, nor have the cast begun to film due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we couldn’t be more excited to know Legally Blonde 3 is officially in the works!
