Sometimes people who are rich and famous manage to stay in touch with what life is like for the rest of us. They care about the environment and issues that impact all of us. They think before they post something on social media.

Other people who are rich and famous are so out of touch that they don’t even realize it when they post something that is clearly out of touch. Kylie Jenner just proved that she’s one of those people.

Jenner grew up in a rich and famous family, so it may not be terribly surprising that her sense of reality is somewhat skewed. It’s not like she had an average life, came from nothing and then had to work for everything she has. No, she was on a reality show when she was still a kid. Fame has always been part of her life.

Sometimes fame results in backlash; especially when someone who is famous misses the mark on so many levels. Jenner did that with a recent Instagram post. While she hasn’t taken the post down, she did make it unsharable on other sites, so perhaps she realized something wasn’t right.

The picture she posted is at an airport. It’s black and white. Jenner and Travis Barker are standing in the middle of the picture, embracing. On either side of them is a private jet. In the background is a Rolls Royce. Jenner captioned the post, “you wanna take mine or yours ?”

Her family was nice with their comments, showing possibly how out of touch they are as well. Her mom, Kris Jenner, commented, “Decisions Decisions.”

Meanwhile, her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, wrote, “Yours please.”

Her fans and followers were less kind. Many pointed out how horrible planes are for the environment, and how the average person trying to do something good for the environment, like recycling, seems to be negated by the 1%’s use of private planes.

One comment reads, “girl what am i recycling for.”

Yet another person commented, “Global warming who ?”

Another comment reads, “Whos plane should we pollute the earth today.”

Then there’s this comment. “Why do I have to limit my meat consumption and use paper straws while the 1% gets to pump tons of carbon into the atmosphere for a day trip to Palm Springs?”

Then there were the followers who simply pointed out how unrelatable this post is. One person sarcastically wrote, “This is so relatable Kylie!”

Another comment reads, “READ THE ROOM KYLIE.”

Jenner and Barker have yet to respond to this backlash. Do you think they will? Does it surprise you that they’re so out of touch?
