Kristen Bell Speaks Out Following Husband Dax Shepard’s Recent Relapse

Dax Shepard recently admitted that he fell off the sobriety train after 16 years. First of all, let’s all pause to applaud those 16 years. That’s nothing to ignore. In fact, Shepard opening up about his struggles and recent relapse may help many other people who feel that sobriety is impossible to achieve or who are too scared to admit they need help.

Shepard announced and discussed his relapse on the podcast Armchair Expert. He said that it all started when he was prescribed pain medication after an injury. It was too much for him to take the medication without being tempted to overdose.

Shepard has since discarded the pills and is committed to recovery, but that leaves us all wondering how his wife, Kristen Bell, is doing. Just like her husband, Bell is being open and honest about his recovery and their relationship.

Bell recently discussed Dax’s relapse and recovery on a virtual interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” When DeGeneres asked Bell about Dax and his relapse, the actress was open and honest saying that he is “addicted to growth” and “addicted to evolving.” She wrapped up the subject saying, “I will continue to stand by him because he’s very, very worth it.”

Watch the interview below.

It sounds like Bell and Shepard are working together to prevent a future relapse. He is definitely a lucky guy to have a supportive wife who will help him establish a plan to prevent a future relapse and who will go to therapy with him to help him work out his “demons.”

Does it surprise you that Bell was so honest about her husband’s relapse?
