Kelly Clarkson Refuses to Pay for Ex-Husband’s Montana Ranch As Bitter Divorce Battle Rages On

Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock are still working out the details of their divorce. Previously, a Los Angeles judge ruled that Clarkson would need to pay her ex-husband $150,000 a month in spousal support and almost $50,000 a month in child support, but it’s not as easy as that.

Clarkson has agreed to pay 70% of the costs for her children to attend private school, but she has refused to pay for her husband’s Montana ranch which he is using as his primary residence. According to TMZ, the court has agreed to Clarkson’s decision.

The ranch costs about $81,000 a month to run. This includes expenses like the mortgage, taxes and insurance. Since this is Blackstock’s residence, it is his responsibility.

Other details revealed in court include how much Blackstock and Clarkson earn each month. Blackstock earns an average of $10,000 a month. Meanwhile, Clarkson earns approximately $1.5 million.

Court documents also reveal that Blackstock is getting out of the entertainment industry and intentionally switching careers. He’s going to be a full-time rancher. The filings say that he “made a very deliberate choice to change his life and become a rancher full-time.”

Instead of earning an income representing musicians, he plans to earn an income by sponsoring rodeos as well as taking care of the livestock and the land on the ranch. He currently only has one client, Blake Shelton, and he reportedly spends as little time as possible representing Shelton.

It has been over a year since Clarkson filed for divorce. She recently asked the court to finally declare her single. Watch the video below to learn more about the latest in Clarkson’s on-going divorce battle.
