Keith Urban Grants Biggest Fan’s “Dying Wish” by Serenading Her in the Hospital
When a young woman named Marissa English found herself hospitalized after enduring numerous health conditions, she was saddened that she couldn’t attend the concert she had tickets to of her favorite country singer, Keith Urban.
Just for some background, English is smitten with Urban—she sleeps with a Keith Urban t-shirt on her pillowcase, sometimes referring to him as “Mr. Hottie.”
Little did she know she was about to get her very own Keith Urban concert—right at the foot of her hospital bed. Urban actually showed up in person to give English her very own personal concert!
It was the nurses at the hospital who had the idea. They new just how big of a fan of Urban’s English was, and how sad she was to have to miss the concert. So they began a campaign on social media to bring the star to the hospital.
“We knew how important it was to Marissa to be at that concert tonight,” said Jan Cassidy, a nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Ohio, where English was staying, “and since she wasn’t able to we were hoping to try and find some way to have Keith make a connection with her.”
They didn’t have the highest hopes of it working—but Urban came through! He came to the hospital, spent some time talking with his number one fan, and then belted out a beautiful rendition of “Blue Aint’ Your Color,” just for her.
As if that wasn’t enough, Urban even dedicated his entire show in Toledo that English was missing to her that night.
“You are a class act,” English’s sister, Madison, told the singer, “and we could never express how much this meant to us today.”
We couldn’t agree more. To see the heartwarming solo performance by Keith Urban to Melissa, check out this tear-jerking video below.
