Jodie Sweetin Opens Up About What the ‘Full House’ Group Text Chain Is Like Without Bob Saget

When Bob Saget died suddenly and unexpectedly in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida, everyone was shocked. His wife had expected him to fly home to Los Angeles that day. His friends had talked to him just days and weeks earlier. He had performed stand up the previous night and even posted about it on social media. It didn’t seem like such a tragedy could be reality.

But it was reality. While the cause of death has yet to be determined, his family and friends grieve his loss. His widow, Kelly Rizzo has spoken about how she is dealing with her late husband’s unexpected death. Some of his friends and former co-workers from the shows “Full House” and “Fuller House” have also expressed about how much they miss their friend. For example, Candace Cameron Bure, who played Saget’s daughter on TV, read part of the last text he ever sent her, and she held back tears as she explained that she never wants to lose that text.

Another one of Saget’s TV daughters is now speaking out about how Saget’s death has impacted her life. Jodi Sweetin played Stephanie on “Full House” and “Fuller House.” She first met Saget at age 5 when she was cast for the role.

In an interview on Good Morning America, Sweetin explained that Saget taught her “how to laugh through some of the most painful moments of your life.” She explained that Saget “had a lot of loss and a lot of grief” during his life, “but he never stopped laughing. He never lost the ability to laugh at himself, to laugh at his situation, to make fun of something that otherwise would be like it was going to break you.”

With a personality as big as Saget’s his absence is sure to be felt and missed. Sweetin explained that the “Full House” cast has a group text, and it’s just not the same without Saget.

Even though Sweetin misses Saget and is sad about this death, she has had a lot to celebrate recently. She turned the big 4-0, and she also got engaged. She told GMA, that she wasn’t sure at first if it was okay to celebrate considering Saget’s death, but then she realized, “Bob would want nothing more than for me to be happy.”
