Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar Release a Statement Following Their Son’s Guilty Verdict
Josh has yet to be sentenced. Judge Timothy Brooks has set sentencing for four months from now. He could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 for both charges.
With the announcement of the guilty verdict, we can only wonder how his family is handling the news. Josh has 7 children with his wife, Anna Duggar. He also has 18 brothers and sisters who you might know from the show “19 Kids and Counting.”
Josh is the oldest child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. Jim Bob and Michelle recently released a statement explaining their reaction to their son’s guilty verdict. They started the statement by explaining, “This entire ordeal has been very grievous.”
The statement continues with the Duggars explaining that prayer has helped them. “Today, God’s grace, through the love and prayers of so many, has sustained us.” They added that they in turn are praying for people who have been victims of child sex abuse material. The statement reads, “Our hearts and prayers are with anyone who has ever been harmed through CSAM.”
Next, the Duggars mentioned their daughter-in-law, Anna. They explained, “In the days ahead, we will do all we can to surround our daughter-in-law Anna and their children with love and support.” Then they specifically mentioned their son, Josh, and that they still love and pray for him. The statement explains, “As parents, we will never stop praying for Joshua, and loving him, as we do all of our children.”
In closing, the Duggars mentioned that they still trust God and that they are thankful for everyone’s prayers. They explained, “In each of life’s circumstances, we place our trust in God. He is our source of strength and refuge. Thank you for your prayers.”
