Just days after Anna Duggar posted a happy video on Instagram announcing that she and her husband, Josh Duggar, were expecting their 7th child, a girl, the family’s life was turned upside down.

Josh Duggar is the oldest child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar who you know from the reality show “19 Kids and Counting.” Last week, Josh Duggar was arrested for two charges: receiving and possessing child pornography. According to the U.S Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Arkansas, Duggar “allegedly used the internet to download child sexual abuse material.” During a Zoom court appearance, Duggar pled not guilty to the charges.

According to Duggar’s attorneys Justin Gelfand, Travis W. Story and Greg Payne, “Josh Duggar has been charged in a two-count indictment. He has pled not guilty to both charges and we intend to defend this case aggressively and thoroughly. In this country, no one can stop prosecutors from charging a crime. But when you’re accused, you can fight back in the courtroom—and that is exactly what Josh intends to do.”

Now, Duggar’s family is speaking out. For example, his parents posted the following statement on their official website:

“We appreciate your continued prayers for our family at this time. The accusations brought against Joshua today are very serious. It is our prayer that the truth, no matter what it is, will come to light, and that this will all be resolved in a timely manner. We love Josh and Anna and continue to pray for their family.”
