Irish Flag Shot Recipe
The perfect shot for St. Paddy’s Day or any day. Getting the layers right can be a little tricky but will never fail to impress your friends.
Irish Flag Shot
1/3 Creme de Menthe
1/3 Baley’s Irish Cream
1/3 Orange Liqueur (Grand Marnier or Cointreau. Do not use Triple Sec as it is clear not orange.
Tips for pouring the perfect layered shot. I pour from these little oxo measuring cups rather than straight from the bottle. This gives me more control over the pour. You don’t want the liqueur to get all over the sides and you don’t want to pour too fast that one liqueur punches to far into the next layer. To slow the pour grab a small spoon, flip it over and pour the liqueur along the back of the spoon slightly above the liquid line. Be sure to clean off the spoon when pouring the next layer or risk contamination. Give a minute or two before serving as some liqueurs will settle into place. Don’t fret if it’s not perfect, even experienced bartenders can face challenges with these.
Other popular layered shots include the B-52 Shot and the Buttery Nipple
