The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed to CNN that Ms. Heche is under investigation for misdemeanor DUI (Driving While Under the Influence) and hit and run in connection with the incident.

The police are awaiting results of a blood draw that Heche underwent the day of the crash. The case will be referred to the Los Angeles City District Attorney’s office after the police complete their investigation.

TMZ has new footage showing Anne Heche coming within feet of hitting a pedestrian at high speed:

The Los Angeles Times spoke Richard Glass who owns Glass Hair Design in Venice, CA. He told the paper that Anne Heche visited the salon that morning. The Glass Hair Design Salon is less than three miles from the crash site. Mr Glass said Heche “wasn’t speaking cursive” while in the Salon. “Speaking cursive” is slang for slurring or sounding drunk.

While at the Salon Mr. Glass said that Heche bought a bright blue wig after enquiring about a red one that was unavailable.

Alec Baldwin a co-star with Heche in the 1996 movie “The Juror” sent a video message to Heche stating: “I hope everything is OK. I hope you come through this. My heart goes out to you. I’m sorry you had this tragic thing happen to you,”

Mr. Baldwin has come into criticism on social media by those pointing out that Heche’s actions put lives in danger. The resident of the home that Heche crashed into barely escaped injury and had most of her belongings destroyed in the fire following the crash that took 56 firefighters to put out.
