Harry and Meghan Have Officially Announced That They Will Attend Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Queen Elizabeth II is getting ready to celebrate 70 years on the throne. This celebration is called the Platinum Jubilee, and the festivities are set to kick off on June 2nd and last all weekend through June 5th, 2022.

This is a big celebration for England, for the Queen and for her family. There are multiple events scheduled for the weekend, and it all kicks off with Trooping the Colour.

During Trooping the Colour, the Queen’s family traditionally joins her on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. This year, the Queen has announced a change to who will be joining her on the balcony. Only working royals are invited to join her. That means Prince Andrew, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are all excluded.

Even though Harry and Meghan will not be on the balcony with the Queen, the Queen has invited them to join her for the Platinum Jubilee. Previously, Prince Harry had remarked that he was concerned about the safety of his family when traveling to England. Since moving to the United States, his children have not yet visited England.

Many people have wondered whether or not Harry and Meghan would decide to attend the Platinum Jubilee, but with less than a month before the festivities are set to begin, we now have an official answer. Harry, Meghan and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, will all be traveling to England to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee with the Queen.

Watch the video below for more details about this recent news from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex including thoughts about why they are being excluded from joining the Queen on the balcony for Trooping the Colour.

Do you think the decision to join the Platinum Jubilee celebration means that Harry and Meghan have reconciled with the royal family? Do you think the family members will be able to put their differences aside to focus on celebrating the Queen?
