Disney is a brand that is known around the world. There are theme parks in multiple countries, movies translated in multiple languages, and an endless number of toys, and products that include Disney characters and logos.

While Disney is certainly popular, not everyone is happy with the company. Many Disney employees are unhappy with their workplace due to the fact that many employees work in Florida where a bill dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill is likely to become law this summer.

Walt Disney World is located in Florida, and many executives have their offices their too. In fact, Disney is relocating approximately 2000 employees from California to Florida. If they don’t want to move, they lose their jobs.

While the “Don’t Say Gay” bill is about what children can or cannot be taught in elementary school, Disney employees feel that it’s actually much more than that, and they are upset at CEO Bob Chapek’s response.

Chapek apologized to Disney employees in a letter, but employees believe that was too little too late. In response, they are planning a walkout that starts today. While the Florida bill is related to children’s education, Disney employees feel that the effects are actually much greater than that. In a series of slides, they explained on Instagram why they feel a walkout is necessary and why they think Disney should do more.

The group planning the walkout has created a website where they outline their demands. These demands include supporting The Trevor Project and not forcing employees to relocate to Florida.
