Ever since the pandemic started, we have recognized delivery drivers as heroes. They have kept working throughout the pandemic and delivered countless packages including many essential items. We’re definitely grateful for their hard work.

While all delivery drivers and essential workers are heroes, one Amazon delivery driver deserves extra special recognition. Not only did he continue working and delivering packages, but recently, he also saved an elderly man’s life.

Sean Campbell is an Amazon delivery driver who lives and works in Florida. He was driving through a subdivision in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, called Century Woods. When he stopped to deliver some packages, he couldn’t help but notice that a house in the subdivision was on fire. Not only was the house on fire, but he heard women screaming.

Campbell explained, “I heard the screaming and when you hear something like that, you have to go to it.”

A neighbor had helped the elderly woman who lived in the house escape from the fire, but an elderly man was still inside. Campbell immediately stopped what he was doing and went to help. He dropped his packages, bravely ripped open the front door and entered the burning home where he found the man in the kitchen.

He was in the kitchen you know with his walker just standing there. I don’t think he really knew what was going on. I was like, ‘Sir c’mon, I need to help you. C’mon let’s get lets get out.”

Campbell helped the man exit the home much quicker than he would have otherwise. If it hadn’t been for Campbell, the man may not have survived. Watch the video below to hear from Campbell about this experience.

The elderly couple’s son wasn’t home during the fire. He was very grateful that both of his parents were able to escape. He especially appreciated Campbell’s help.

It was fantastic he was both here and able to go inside and brave enough to go inside, we really appreciate that.”

Would you enter a burning home if you knew someone inside needed help escaping?
