British Couple Announces That They’re Pregnant With Their 22nd Baby After Dad Reverses Vasectomy
Most people aim to have two, maybe three kids. Four tops. But some people go on to have even more than that—you know, like 22.
Meet Sue and Noel Radford, a couple from England, who are currently expecting their 22nd child.
The couple had announced back in 2018 that they were done having kids after their 21st had arrived. But no one really took them seriously, since after Kid #9 Noel had undergone a vasectomy and then reversed it not long afterward.
The Radfords have their own YouTube channel and regularly vlog about their large family. That’s where they made the announcement that they were expecting their 22nd child.
Their children range in age from 30 to just 1. The kiddos are Chris, 30; Sophie, 25; Chloe, 23; Jack, 22; Daniel, 20; Luke, 18 Millie, 17; Katie, 16; James, 15; Ellie, 14; Aimee, 13; Josh, 12; Max, 11; Tillie, 9; Oscar, 7; Casper, 6; Hallie, 3; Phoebe, 2; and Archie, 18 months—and now, there’s one more on the way.
The little one is due in April, and while gender remains unknown at the moment, Sue is thinking it could be a boy, which would give the family an even amount of boys and girls. “I wonder if it will be 11 of each,” she said. “I am feeling a bit boy.”
“I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy is going already,” Sue also said in her announcement video. Well, with the 22nd time around, we’re sure nine months feels more like 9 weeks!
We know what you’re thinking: It’s expensive to have just one child, how does a family afford to have 22?
The family is pretty open about what it costs to raise so many people in one household. They spend about £350 ($453.70 US) on groceries each week. And if they want to eat out at a restaurant one night? They’ll look to spend a minimum of £150 ($194.47 US).
Besides just being expensive, there’s a lot more maintenance, as you can imagine. When it comes to laundry, the Radfords say they wash about 18kg (39.6 US pounds) of clothes a week! It also takes the family about three hours to clean up every night after dinner just to maintain their home and ensure it doesn’t get out of hand.
Thanks to their popular bakery business, Radford’s Pie Company, they’re doing quite well and able to afford the lifestyle they’re comfortable with. Both parents agree: They can’t wait to bring their 22nd child into the world!
What do you think: Are the Radfords done having kids after their 22nd, or will there be a 23rd? Can you imagine having so many children?
