Chrissy Teigen Shares Vulnerable Post With Photo of Her Current Post-Pregnancy Belly

Chrissy Teigen, 35, is known for being open and honest with her fans on social media. In a vulnerable Instagram post, the star shared an image of her body’s current state following the loss of her pregnancy in September.

The photo shows Teigen wearing a cream-colored, cutout dress, which highlights her still-rounded belly. She says the reflection in the mirror is a painful reminder of losing her son, Jack.

She wrote: “This is me and my body, just yesterday. Even though I’m no longer pregnant, every glance in the mirror reminds me of what could have been. And I have no idea why i still have this bump, honestly. It’s frustrating. But I’m proud of where this entire journey took my body and mind in other ways. I love being pregnant, so so much, and I’m sad I never will be again. But I am lucky to have two amazing little ones who are transforming into big little people more and more every single day. Anyhoo. Love u guys. Xx”

The post was met with an outpouring of support from fellow celebrities and fans, many of whom said they have followed Teigen’s pregnancy journey and subsequent loss. Singer Melanie Fiona commented, “Your body is the site of a miracle. The many forms it can take humbly remind us that all things are possible. You look beautiful Chrissy. 💜”

Countless fans thanked Teigen for her sharing the raw truth about pregnancy loss. One wrote, “My body wasn’t “normal” post-loss for a while. It’s a heartbreaking reminder & I feel for you 💕.”

She and her husband, singer John Legend, had announced they were expecting their third child last summer. The couple has a daughter, Luna, and a son, Miles.

Teigen experienced complications early on in her pregnancy and was placed on bed rest. She chronicled the challenges on her Instagram account, which included hospital visits and blood transfusions. Sadly, she ultimately lost her son during her second trimester.

Following the loss, she shared a heartbreaking post showing her crying in a hospital bed, accompanied by the sad news.

The post was followed by a noticeable period of silence from the generally active Instagram user, who later penned a heartfelt essay about pregnancy loss. Teigen said she hoped her experience might help others who have been in a similar situation.

She wrote: “I cannot express how little I care that you hate the photos. How little I care that it’s something you wouldn’t have done. I lived it, I chose to do it, and more than anything, these photos aren’t for anyone but the people who have lived this or are curious enough to wonder what something like this is like. These photos are only for the people who need them.”
