Former ABC News Producer Comes Out to Reveal That Chris Cuomo Once Sexually Harassed Her

Shelley Ross is a former executive producer for ABC, and once upon a time she was the executive producer at “Primetime Live.” While working there, she was Chris Cuomo‘s boss.

Eventually, Ross left “Primetime Live” to be the executive producer on another show at ABC. It was during this time that Ross had an encounter with Cuomo that she has not revealed publicly until now.

In an opinion piece she wrote for The New York Times, Ross explained that she and her husband attended a work party together when Cuomo came up to her.

I was at the party with my husband, who sat behind me on an ottoman sipping his Diet Coke as I spoke with work friends. When Mr. Cuomo entered the Upper West Side bar, he walked toward me and greeted me with a strong bear hug while lowering one hand to firmly grab and squeeze the cheek of my buttock.

“I can do this now that you’re no longer my boss,” he said to me with a kind of cocky arrogance. “No you can’t,” I said, pushing him off me at the chest while stepping back, revealing my husband, who had seen the entire episode at close range. We quickly left.”

Ross went on to explain that just an hour later she received an apology email from Cuomo; however, she felt that it was not really an apology. Instead, she believes it was “an attempt to provide himself with legal and moral coverage to evade accountability.”

Even though Ross believes what Cuomo did was wrong and unacceptable, she does not want him to lose his current job at CNN. Instead, she has another idea. Watch the video below to learn more about Ross’s encounter with Cuomo and what she thinks he could do to make things right.

Do you think Cuomo will lose his job at CNN because of what happened with Ross years ago? Do you think he should lose his job? What do you think of Ross’s idea of having Cuomo repent on air and report on sexual harrassment, sexism and gender bias?
