Chip and Joanna Gaines Talk “Fixer Upper” Decisions
There’s big news in the Chip and Joanna Gaines’ fandom and it’s not just about Chip’s hair. Okay, a lot of it is about Chip’s hair, but it’s also an explanation of why the couple stepped back from their exceedingly successful show “Fixer Upper,” “At the height of (their) popularity” as one host notes in the video below.
When they’re introduced, the hosts call Chip and Joanna, “one of the most recognizable couples on TV” and I’d have to agree with that. While I was never all that invested in the show, I have certainly flipped through more than one edition of Magnolia and I would definitely be willing to give the revival a shot! My partner and I also just spent seven months – yeah, you read that right, seven months, trying to buy a house. I must’ve heard Chip and Joanna Gaines name-dropped dozens of times a day during that process. They were referenced when it came to how much work a house needed, whether the open floors and gray walls gave the house “That Magnolia Vibe” or not, and mostly they were referenced when explaining why we might face a lot of competition for a specific house. By the end of this long, difficult journey, I felt like the Gaines went House Hunting with us! So I can certainly understand why folks wanna know what this iconic couple are up to and why.
What do you think of Chip’s hair? Did you “discover” the Gaines through “Fixer Upper” or somewhere else? Were you surprised by anything they said in this interview?
