Celine Dion Hits Back At Critics Who Are Body Shaming Her for Being “Too Skinny”

Celine Dion has been the target of body critique campaigns and she is not here for it, okay? The famous singer and mother of three recently responded to fans who have expressed concern about her weight.

In photos and interviews, Dion is noticeably thinner, but she attributes the weight loss to lots of physical activity and ballet. The 51-year-old has always loved to dance and in an interview with People, opened up about her new habit:

“Dancing has been in my DNA all of my life. It’s a dream. And so hard! I do this four times a week. People say, ‘She’s a lot thinner’ but I’m working hard. I like to move and weight loss comes with it.”

In addition to dance, Dion has been getting into fashion more, making changes to her personal style by leaning toward haute couture pieces. L’Oréal Paris chose her to be their newest global brand ambassador, a role which she’s embracing with fervor.

She confessed that growing up, she struggled with beauty and body image, but now she is at a point in her life where she feels sexy, beautiful, confident, and strong. To the shamers, she says to mind your own business. In her words, beauty is within and will be reflected on the outside.

If you’re a fan, you can try to snag tickets to her Las Vegas residency which will be ending soon or stay tuned for her biopic. Your other alternative? Catch up with her on social media but skip the body-shaming comments.

Are you one of Dion’s fans who’s been concerned with her appearance? What do you think of her response?
