Celine Dion was in the middle of a North American tour when the pandemic hit back in 2020. The decision was made to abruptly stop the tour and postpone the remaining tour dates. As pandemic restrictions eased up, the tour dates were rescheduled for March and April of 2022 before they ended up being canceled altogether.

Dion’s health was the reason for the cancelation. A statement from a press release in January 2022 explained that Dion “has been treated for severe and persistent muscle spasms which are preventing her from performing, and her recovery is taking longer than she hoped.” The statement added, “Her medical team continues to evaluate and treat the condition.”

Dion was hoping that she would be fully recovered and able to go forward with her European tour as planned, but now, she has announced that the European tour will be postponed due to her health issues. She has not completely recovered.

In a video posted to Instagram, Dion explained, “I need to be in top shape when I’m on stage.” She added, “I’m doing my very best to get back to the level that I need to be so that I can give 100% at my shows because that’s what you deserve.”
