Celine Dion Forced To Cancel Rest of Tour Due To Recent Health Battle

For years, many people traveled to Las Vegas to watch Celine Dion perform live on stage at Caesar’s Palace. She ended her residency in Las Vegas in 2019, and in 2020, she started her North American tour.

Unfortunately, the pandemic hit in the middle of Dion’s tour, forcing her to postpone finishing the tour dates. The second half of the tour ended up getting rescheduled for March and April of 2022.

Before finishing her tour, Dion was scheduled to perform at the brand new Resorts World Theater in Las Vegas starting on November 5, 2021. On October 19, Dion posted an official announcement that her show had been canceled. The announcement explained that the singer was battling severe muscle spams which made it impossible for her to perform.

On Instagram, Dion wrote, “I’m heartbroken by this. My team and I have been working on our new show for the past eight months, and to not be able to open this November saddens me beyond words.”

Although Dion had to cancel the opening of her new show in Las Vegas, she still hoped to be able to finish her tour in 2022. Unfortunately, now her team has made the tough decision to cancel the tour as well.

On Instagram, Dion explained, “I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing. There’s a lot of organizing and preparation that goes into our shows, and so we have to make decisions today which will affect the plans two months down the road.”
